Olive (Olea Europea)
The olive tree is a fruit plant. Native of the Mediterranean, has been used since antiquity for food. Its fruits, olives, are used for oil extraction and, to a lesser extent, for direct use in food. It is a long-lived plant: in good climatic conditions. The stem is cylindrical and twisted, with gray bark, the wood is very hard and heavy. It is on evergreen plant, whose activity is almost continuous dimming in winter. The real flowering occurs from May to early June. |
